Standard auger

Standard augers are for transporting ground in hole drilling in soft and loose grounds by special winged scraped bits.

Auger is a pipe with winding flange wrapped around. A wind is made by the hinge of steel tape on special spiral arbor and then it is put on auger and welded. Connecting elements are welded to the ends of auger.

In auger drilling the main thing is a drilling instrument, which gave the name to the type of drilling.

Types and arrangement of drilling technological instrument:

• noncore auger drilling can be performed by a bit and a column of common augers;
• auger core drillind can be performed by a pushdown auger with a bore bit and a column of common augers;
• drilling by a column of cored screw with usage of movable core receiver or movable bit.

In drilling in soft and loose ground there can be used two-bladed and three-bladed bits of cutting type with spiral or plain blades, armored with hard alloy. For medium-hard grounds, where higher durability is needed, there can be used rounded cut with harder alloy.

The basis of drilling instrument for auger drilling is augers, which compose a column with endless spiral flange from bore bit to the surface.

In dependence with kind of drilling there can be used three typed of augers: common, which includes weighted, pushdown and cored.

Common drilling augers are used more frequently.

Augers are connected to each other by hexagons and trihedrons, which pass moment of rotation, and bolts, which get axial load. Bolts are hold by pins.

Augers are delivered with bolts and pins as a set.
