Mechanical shovel with rack-and-pinion crowd. Designed for excavation and loading minerals and overburden rocks in transport facilities in heavy benches.
The shovel EKG-5A consists of the following constituents: revolving structure including revolving frame with mechanisms based on it, and working equipment; undercarriage consisting of base frame, two crawler frames with wheels and crawler belts; propel mechanism, ring gear, roller circle.
Used for open-pit mining and loading rock in transport facilities, and in engineering of hydraulic, industrial and other structures. Equipped with independent underdrive and other high-efficiency units.
The machine shows good results working in moderate climate, Far North and tropic conditions.
- The main bearing structures – boom, handle, revolving and base frames – are made of rolled alloy steel ensuring the machine reliable operation in severe mining, geological and climatic conditions.
- The dipper and tooth gears are manufactured of high wear-resisting alloy ensuring trouble-free operation under high dynamic loads.
- The shovel electric drive is performed as “generator-motor” system, or with magnetic amplifiers control, or with excitation of the electric machines by thyristor converters with digital control system. The control system is equipped with necessary locks for the shovel safe operation. Planetary swing gear cases.
- The unit of digging semiautomatic control is used in electric drives control system. Digging automation saves the operator’s labour and reduces specific energy consumption. The operator’s cab is designed in compliance with requirements of ergonomic standards. Its walls with heat- and sound-insulation are covered with decorative plastic. The seat with vibrating insulation can be set in any position convenient for the operator. Cab’s shatter-proof glass with sun-blind filter ensures good visibility during operation.
