The shovel with bucket capacity of 8 m3 and elongated front-end equipment is designed for loading rock in transport facilities positioned at floor level, mining higher bench faces and reducing the railroad move frequency.

The shovel has a construction design traditional for Izhorskiye excavators: articulated boom free of bending and single-leg inner handle free of torsion loads.

Two double-crawler undercarriages with rocker arms leveling the loads are used as the excavator mounting. Each undercarriage has individual drive to provide high maneuverability during shovel travel and operation. The crawler design makes it possible to fit an increased to 7,6 m in diameter roller circle on the base frame thus improving the revolving frame balance and decreasing loads on swing gear and bearing assembly.

All mechanisms of the shovel represent separate units. This allows repairing the shovel by exchange of complete units. Planetary swing gear cases. Double-deck cab with improved visibility, air-conditioning, comfortable seat, fan, sun visor and screen wiper.

Ten JSC “Izhorskiye zavody” inventions are put in the excavator construction:

• boom hanger preventing the unit failure;
• double-action shock absorber fitted in the dipper handle and reducing dynamic loads in the handle and crowd;
• the dipper with special construction of dipper lip and dipper door brake mechanism;
• removable recurring half-block;
• dipper hanger and other.
